Putin has lost enough soldiers to fill Arrowhead Stadium 3x just to capture an area smaller than Palm Beach County
DID YOU KNOW?
Putin has lost 231,480 soldiers in Ukraine - just this year!
The average daily Russian casualties is 1286 according to Newsweek quoting Ukrainian official sources. 1286 losses per day for half a year is 231,480. Arrowhead Stadium holds 76,400 people. Three times that is 229,200. The Russians have incurred 2,280 more casualties than three Arrowhead Stadiums can hold.
How can we be sure of these numbers? Another way to look at Russia’s losses is from Secretary of State Rubio, who said in mid-July that 100,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in 2025.
In August 2023, the NY Times cited unnamed US officials who estimated 120,000 deaths and 170,000 to 180,000 injured. This yields a ratio of killed to wounded of 1 to 1.4 or 1 to 1.5. If the ratio holds true in 2025, that yields 240,000 to 250,000 Russian casualties in the first six months of 2025.
DID YOU KNOW?
Russia has gained land in Ukraine equal to 73% of the size of
the average US county.
Numerous organizations have created interactive maps of the front line between Ukrainian and Russian forces. RussiaMatters.org compiled data from The Institute for the Study of War that shows the net territory in Ukraine held by Russians on a monthly basis. Subtracting the December 2024 number from the June 2025 number gives us 856 square miles gained in 2025.
Russia has captured an area of Ukraine equal to about 37% of Palm Beach County. It cost them about 231,480 soldiers.
Another way to look at it is that each Russian casualty bought Putin a chunk of Ukrainian land about the size of the average Wal-Mart discount store.
While Putin’s total losses in 2025 filled Arrowhead stadium three times, each one of those casualties delivered a patch of Ukrainian land slightly smaller than two football fields.
QUICK FACTS
Putin’s lost ⅓ of his Black Sea Fleet.
On July 29, 2024, Newsweek cited the British Ministry of Defense in saying that Ukraine had sunk a third of Russia’s Black Sea fleet.
As of July 16, 2025, the official website of the Russian Black Sea fleet lists 48 vessels. Newsweek lists the number of sunken ships at 26, or 35% of the Black Sea fleet.
It is worth noting that the World Directory of Modern Military Warships ranks the Ukrainian navy 37th out of 39 world navies ranked. The Russian navy is ranked #3.
Putin’s lost ⅔ of his national wealth fund
According to Business Insider in a January 2025 story citing a Swedish economist, Russia’s wealth fund was at $117 billion in liquid reserves in 2021. By November of 2024, the fund was at $31 billion in liquid reserves for a loss of nearly 74%.
The Moscow Times cites Russian economists with similar numbers, with $113.5 billion in liquid assets in the fund in 2022 compared with $36.4 billion on June 1, 2025 for a loss of almost 68%.
A crashing economy
The Russian Minister of Economy has said that the Russian economy is on the brink of recession.
According to the Russian central bank, interest rates are at 20%.
In Q1 of 2025, 16.1% of consumer loans in Russia were delinquent, compared to only 2.7% in the United States.
Foreign direct investment in Russia is at less than 9% of its 2021 levels, in part because the Russian government is nationalizing assets.
As of January 2025, the inflation rate in Russia stood at 10%.
What has Putin got for it?
A million casualties
Newsweek discusses various sources for Russian casualties in a June 12, 2025 article.
Ukraine’s military announced 1,000,340 casualties on June 12, 2025. The British government tallied 920,000 Russian casualties in April 2025.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies estimated on June 2 that 250,000 Russians had been killed within 950,000 total casualties.
… And he has ticked off the wrong US president
July 7, Weapons Shipments Reversal: "We are going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves. They’re getting hit very hard now."
July 7, sending Patriots: “...he (Putin) talks nice then he bombs everyone in the evenings.”
July 8, Cabinet Meeting: “We get a lot of bull---- thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth. He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”
July 14, Oval Office Remarks: President Trump says "We're going to make top-of-the-line weapons, and they'll be sent to NATO [and then on to Ukraine]" while affirming a ~$10 billion NATO weapons package for Ukraine.

Biden Screwed This Up
Bob Woodward’s book, War, quoted Biden staff who attended meetings in Moscow with CIA Director Burns that Putin was emboldened to invade Ukraine by Biden’s poorly executed withdrawal from Afghanistan.
For years, Biden would not let Ukraine use US weapons inside Russia, which gave Putin’s forces a safe space from which to launch devastating attacks against Ukraine’s military and civilians. He finally gave the Ukrainian miltary limited use of US weapons inside Russia on November 17, 2024 - 63 days before he left office. So he did not think letting Ukraine use US weapons inside Russia was bad policy, he just lacked the political courage to deal with whatever fallout may follow. Which turned out to be nothing.
When the Ukrainian armed forces liberated Kherson in 2022, Biden’s national security team forced Ukraine to allow the peaceful retreat of 30,000 Russian soldiers rather than attack them or capture them.
Even Ukrainians don’t like Biden’s team.
On election day, EuroMaidan PR, one of the largest English-language publications in Ukraine, published this on its social media.
